Guest Service Agent

Reports To: General Manager

Summary Accommodates guests and owners of Tamarack Lodge by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Greet, registers, and assigns rooms to guests.
- Issues room key and assist with luggage if requested.
- Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests; and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
- Keeps records of room availability and guests' accounts.
- Computes bill, collects payment, and makes change for guests.
- Answers phones. Makes and confirms reservations.
- Posts charges such as room, food, liquor, or misc. charges to guest account.
- Makes restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservation, and arranges for tours.
- Monitor daily events or activities.
- Any other duties that may be required.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and Word Processing software.
